The Good Person Test

Are You a Good Person... Good ENOUGH For Heaven?

HUMAN COURTROOM

Imagine you're in court. You are standing before the judge and there is no debate over whether you are guilty or not. You have by your own admission confessed to the crime. You know you're guilty. You have accepted by now that your not going to get off because of your own goodness. But you're hoping you'll get off because of the judges goodness. You're hoping the judge will let you off because he's a good judge. So you say...

"Your honour, I accept now that I'm not a good person. You made your point well. However, I know you are a good judge. Please accept that I'm sorry for what I did. I know it was wrong, even evil. I am really, really, really sorry. I promise never to do this thing again. This is the last time you'll see me in this courtroom. Please, I beg you, forgive me and let me go."

The judge is likely to say, "You're right. I am a good judge. I pride my self on making good and just judgements. And because I'm a good judge I'm going to see that justice is served and your crime is paid for."

PLEASE NOTE: The very thing that the criminal in this story (ie. you) thought would get them off paying the penalty for their crime, the judges goodness, was the very thing that caused the judge to make sure the criminal paid for their crime. A good judge will make sure that murderers, rapists, drug pushers and users, arsonists, burglars, thieves and all criminals, pay for their crimes.
