After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to many people at different times showing more amazing proofs of who he was (Acts 1:3, John chapters 20-21). This was before he was taken up into heaven (Acts 1:11; 1 Timothy 3:16) from where he will later come to judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:21; Acts 10:42; Matthew 25:31-46).
God wants to forgive you and give you eternal life. He does not want any to perish in hell (2 Peter 3:9). So he did all this for you. You are so very precious to him and his love is perfect towards you. It is so perfect and you are of such great worth to God your creator, that he was willing to bear the shame, mocking and curse of the cross on himself, to save your soul from hell (Philippians 2:8). He did this so that sinners might be born again (John 3:7) and have new life with him (2 Corinthians 5:1-7).
He bore our sins in his body on the cross so we might die to sin and live for righteousness (1 Peter 2:24).
God is both just and merciful. In his justice he rightly demands that sin must be paid for. In his unbelievable mercy, he paid for it himself. If you want to know what God thinks of sin, consider the penalty, eternal hell. If you want to know what he thinks of the sinner, consider the cross and Jesus hanging there with you in mind.
WHAT MUST YOU DO THEN TO BE SAVED?
